DCITC's Kenyan Adventure

Derby County in the Community has teamed up with KenyanAdventure to offer supporters the opportunity of a lifetime.

DCITC are looking for participants to travel to Kenya in May 2012 to spend 10 days working on community projects in a developing area of south-west Kenya.

You will have the chance to spend time working on projects ranging from teaching in schools and working with underpriviledged children to football and multi-schools training.

There will also be an adventure day with visits to the equator and a Kenyan safari park, which will be included midway through this unique travel opportunity.

In addition to gaining an experience of a lifetime and supporting the development of young people in Kenya, participants will also be raising funds for DCITC's Disability Programme in the local Derbyshire region.

On the project, Derby County Chief Executive Tom Glick said: "I would encourage fans tot ake up this wonderful opportunity and really make a difference in a fantastic part of the world, as well as supporting our local disability programme".

By taking participants to Kenya, DCITC aims to raise £20,000 towards sustaining the successful disability programme which offers vulnerable adults and young people the opportunity to play and enjoy football, creating a level playing field for all.

The trip also supports the 2012 KenyanAdventure Community Development Pledge, which invests resources and equipment into the projects KenyanAdventure supports.

DCITC would like to invite those interested to come along to a presentation in the Pedigree Suite at Pride Park Stadium on 3rd August 2011 at 6.30pm, which will coincide with Derby's pre-season friendly against Aston Villa at 7:45pm.
