Rising star Mark O’Brien pays a visit to Derby County in the Community’s Ability Counts disability football session

The players at Derby County in the Community’s Ability Counts disability football session were delighted to be joined by Mark O’Brien, first team player for the Rams, this week.
Mark gave up his time to come down and see some of his biggest fans, sharing his experiences and joining in the fun. Players had the opportunity to learn from one of their football heroes and show off their skills.
Towards the end of the session, Mark took part in a penalty shootout activity with the players, staying to take photos and sign autographs.
Sam Turner, Disability Football Development Officer, said, “It was real privilege to have Mark O’Brien come down to our football session to spend time with our young players. It was evident from the smiles on the players’ faces and their enthusiasm to show off their skills, that they were excited to be in the prescence of a Derby County Football Player. Mark was fantastic with all the players and really made a difference to the session.”
Local education recruitment and training company New Directions also came down to the session with their new inflatable penalty shoot out. This was a great surprise for the players, who all enjoyed testing out their skills.
The inflatable penalty shoot out is available free of charge to schools and charities for fundraising purposes. For more information please contact New Directions:
