Derwent FC Season Review 2010-2011

Derwent FC under 11s continued their impressive form from last season by winning the Derby Mini Soccer Division 1.
Derwent FC are a local football club that are based in the Derwent ward of Chaddesden. The club was founded in 2004 starting with just two teams, a Senior team and an under 15’s side. In 2005 the Hat-trick Project was introduced to the area with one of it’s key aims being to help develop Derwent FC into a Charter Standard club helping to provide a sustainable legacy of Hat-trick.
After a slow start to the season, in which the team struggled to fill a full squad and had no wins in four, it appeared the team would struggle to make the step up to 11-a-side. However, spurned on by a lack of wins, the team pushed on and managed to win all remaining fixtures in both the league and cup.
With impressive stats of 16 wins in 18 games, with a goal difference of 100, Derwent rounded off the season by beating Belper Town Juniors 3-0 in the cup final. They also lifted the Gad Kalsa Pride Park Tournament, rounding off a tremendous season.
Derwent FC are now in pre-season but are raring to go for the 2011-2012 to kick off. Anyone interested in learning more about Derwent FC should contact Rich Astle, Inclusion Manager, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
