Derby County in the Community awarded top marks for 'The Movement'
Derby County has been named the winner of the Best Community Project (Sports Participation) as part of the Coca-Cola Community Club of the Year Award and has also recieved a high commendation at The Football League Awards 2011.

Collecting a Sports Participation award in the Coca-Cola Community club of the Year category, this prestigious accolade reflects the innovative methods used by The Movement to help girls lead happy, healthy and active lifestyles.
'The Movement' targeted 11-16 year old inactive girls through an innovative programme of sports, physical activity and dance. The project aimed to increase levels of participation amongst the target audience and increase their understanding of healthy lifestyle choices leading to positive behavioral change. Almost 2500 girls have joined The Movemen since it launched in 2009 and it has increased girls physical activity levels by an impressive 19%.
The Football League Awards celebrate excellence on and off the pitch across the league's 72 clubs and the winners were announced at a gala ceremony at The Brewery, London, on Sunday 20th March.
